Trauma Informed Career and Financial Planning

Angela Campos, MA

Economic abuse is a prevalent form of domestic violence impacting 94 to 99% of domestic violence survivors.  Its impact can have devastating consequences to the survivor’s ability to obtain and maintain economic stability post separation. This training is a compilation of materials developed by the Allstate Foundation and the Center for Survivor Agency and Justice. At the culmination of this training participants will be able to identify economic abuse, and ways to help survivors by screening for the short and long term impact of economic abuse. Participants will examine their own beliefs about money and understand how those same values can impact a survivor’s ability to make healthier decisions about money. Tools to help survivors create functioning budgets, a review of basic financial factors impacting credit and resources available to survivors within the state will be provided.
