DCP&P Four Tier Model
February 28, 2018
10:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Leslie Malkin & Peter Forest

This training is designed to introduce and familiarize domestic violence advocates with the new DCP&P regulations, policies and practice regarding child abuse and neglect investigative findings described as the “Four Tier Model.” Beginning in April of 2013, this new model replaced the two tier model. Previously cases were “substantiated” or not “substantiated.”  Now, there can be four different findings and which finding is applied has implications for whether a record of the allegation is kept. Through the use of case scenarios, participants will understand how DCP&P caseworkers make their determinations regarding child abuse and neglect allegations. Peter Forest, DCP&P Training Academy, and Leslie Malkin, NJCEDV, will team teach this training with an emphasis on the implications for domestic violence victim/survivors.
